Getting Your Louisiana CDL

To start you must first complete the following:

• Take your (DOT) CDL physical & drug screen

• Successfully complete & obtain CDL permit written testing from Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicle. (DMV)

• Complete the theory entry-level drivers training (ELDT)

• Next you will learn the components of the truck (pre-trip). While working on backing maneuvers.

• Then you are ready for Behind -the – Wheel training. (BTW)

• Upon completing the above criteria you’re now ready for your 3rd party examination.
